Bloomingdale, IL Roof Restoration and Coatings Systems

This roof restoration project is the Marklund Day School located in Bloomingdale, IL. The existing metal roof was leaking and looking terrible. The expansion and remodeling of the school prompted the servicing of the roofing.

The project started with a thorough pressure washing to remove and surface contaminants. Tree sap, bird residue, previous tar sealants, and many caulk repairs had this building looking a wreck.

After drying, we applied the GAF Topcoat roof restoration system in the color Terra Cotta. This went well with the color scheme.

The sprayable membrane was applied at the rate of 3 gallons per 100 square feet, applied in two separate coats.

Although it looks really good, and will be leak-free long into the future, the job was challenging: Nearly the entire project had to be performed from a manlift that gave us access to all the steeply pitched roof areas. Accuracy and technique were very important to a good looking finished product. Spraying at three thousand PSI can get sloppy if you dont know what youre doing.

By choosing the roof restoration, the Marklund School saved approximately 75% over the cost of metal roof replacement on this project.
